March 2026

Despite the poor weather, work has continued on the new Training and Education facility and more details of progress can be found on the Training and Education facility page.

We are working on the building, the access way and the surrounding area on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of every week. If anyone would like to help on any of those days providing the weather is dry that would be most helpful.

Further to the January 2026 update below, we now have a small group of members who wish to take the Basic Assessment exam this year. If any member who has kept bees for at least one year is still thinking about maybe trying for this award please read the information about it on our Education page and contact our Secretary in the next few weeks. You will be very welcome to join the group.

January 2026

Our Basic Foundation Beekeeping Course will start on Saturday April 11, 2026. Individuals are very welcome to join either or both the theory/practical sessions on a “taster” basis where membership of the Association is not immediately required. Please read our Training 2026 page for more details.

Any members who have kept bees for at least one year and are interested in finding out about what is involved in doing the Basic Assessment exam please look at the information on our Education page . If you are at all interested please contact our Secretary who will be happy to help you.

We have added our final update of the year on the work that has been done on our new Training and Education facility

• This year’s AGM for all members is on Wednesday 10th December 2025 at 7pm at Swarland Village Club. (NE65 9JG). We very much hope members will be able to join us. If any members need more information about the AGM, please contact the Association’s Secretary.
