There are numerous education opportunities for new and experienced beekeepers and we encourage our members to attain BBKA beekeeping qualifications.

Below is an overview of all possible exams within the overall BBKA exam structure.
Where to start?
A good starter is The Basic Assessment exam – also called the Basic Certificate. This exam is for those beekeepers who have kept bees for at least one year. It is the first of many BBKA exams which can be taken and the idea is to give all beekeepers a measure of their achievement in the basic skills and knowledge of looking after bees.
You will find a syllabus and information pack for the Basic Certificate in the Exam and Assessments module within the BBKA website. It is very detailed and should answer any queries you may have initially but there are many members in the Club who have taken the certificate and will be pleased to tell you more. Please contact the Secretary in the first instance.
Should anyone who has passed the Basic Certificate wish to progress further with other exams and assessments, they should contact the Secretary with any queries or assistance they need. We will be pleased to help.
